Full Beards are certainly trending these days. Everywhere I look, I see men of all colors and creeds sporting the full beard look and I love it! So, if you're are a bearded brother needing suggestions for maintaining healthy and happy facial hairs, I have a few tips for you.
Just to provide a bit of background, beard oil has been used for millennia as a way to groom the beard, stimulate oil production and keeps the skin fresh and clean. The oil treats dry skin, itchy face, stimulates hair follicles in patchy growth areas, treats ingrown hairs and "beardruff".
First, look for beard oils crafted with unrefined jojoba oil. Make sure any added scents in the beard oil are made with all-natural essential oil blends rather than fragrance oils. Fragrance oils are made with undisclosed ingredients, and can be full of harsh chemicals that can irritate skin and dry out hair. Essential oils, however, can actually have a beneficial effect on skin and facial hair. I recommend using a beard oil after washing beard, when it’s nearly dry.
I recommend our NDEVU (Swahili for "Beard") Oil (15ml) handcrafted from all natural ingredients - Unrefined Jojoba Oil, Cedarwood Essential Oil, French Lavender Essential Oil, Tea Tree Essential Oil, Rosemary Essential Oil, Grapefruit Essential Oil and Lime Essential Oil. Direction: Add 3-4 drops into palm of hand. Apply to full beard area and massage into skin. Use beard comb or brush to groom, if desired.
Follow up with a quality, all natural beard balm - I suggest our Skin Therapy Healing Cream (Adult Formula) 8oz. Most good beard balms and moisturizers will have the same ingredients found in beard oils, but will also include butters and waxes that act as sealants to help hold in the moisture and keep your hair and skin hydrated. You’ll also get the added benefit of the beard balm helping make your beard appear thicker.
Both Ndevu Beard Oil and Skin Therapy Healing Cream and now on sale. For a limited time only.
